F.A.Q

1. When I use the RIDO container, the first two or three times it empties itself out everyday. Is that normal?

The RIDO container work thru the capillary, which means that the soil or substrate of the flowerpot has to reach a field capacity or relative determined humidity. That’s why you might see that when you use RIDO the first second third or even fourth time it might empty itself out everyday, that’s because the peat or substrate is drinking the container water to reach a relative optimal humidity.

Once the flowerpots substrate has reached field capacity the container will start to function normally and it can last between one and three weeks without having to refill it, depending on the size (diameter) and capacity of the flowerpot. A quick trick so that you can avoid this initial emptying out is to water the plants in the way you used to before inserting the RIDO for the first time.

2. Once the RIDO container is working, it empties itself constantly. Why does this happen?

The RIDO container is not closed properly and lets the air in, which means that the container empties itself, much quicker.

3. The RIDO container never empties out. Why does this happen?

This might happen because one of the wicks might be clogged which means the water can’t exit the container.

Make sure that there isn’t a stone or some clump of soil or any other object clogging the wicks, especially the one on the lateral side of the RIDO regulating the air that comes into the container.

4. Why is it that with RIDO the plants grow bigger and better?

RIDO is the only system on the market that lets the plant actually decide how much water it needs. The plant is the one who decides how much and when they should take the water.

This avoids the issue of drowning the soil with water and killing off the oxygen which contributes to the premature death of the roots and consequently the plant.
