Advice and recommendation for use

RIDO is a household watering system for plants and potted plants that work both with capillary and atmospheric pressure. For this to work properly there are two basic requirements:

1. The wick of the base needs to be in direct contact with the substrate or soil of the plant. You don’t have to put the base of the RIDO on the substrate and you must make sure that the lateral wick is not buried or obstructed in any way otherwise this would stop the air from coming in that allows the water feed the plant . If there is an obstruction the RIDO will stop functioning after some time.

2. Once you have filled the container and turned off the tap, make sure that the wick on the base drips for a few seconds. If after 30 seconds the RIDO deposit keeps dripping, we suggest that you screw on the top a little harder, because air continues to come in through the base.

Some useful advice

We recommend that from time to time you change the position of the RIDO in the flowerpot to avoid the substrate in the base from drying up too much and so that the roots on one side can also have access to water.

Also it would be good if once a year, when you start to fill your RIDO container and before you place it on the plants, you add a few drops of anticalcification, and without closing it, let itself empty itself out outside the plant pot. This keeps the wick at the base free from obstruction by possible water calcification.

Our last word of advice is to water your plants a lot before placing the RIDO system in for the first time then you can see how well your new household system works.
